Junior Stew/Third Stew
A Junior Stew or 3rd Stew is an entry level position and will largely be responsible for housekeeping, laundry, and detailing. This position allows the candidate to get acquainted with the on board environment & further develop skills which allows them to progress. A Junior Stew will be actively seeking out additional skills which make them an asset on board, such as additional wine training, yoga instruction, massage training, all which are incredibly valuable.
Second Stew
A 2nd Stew becomes much more involved in the service side of the job, acting as the right hand of the Chief Stew. They often will lead breakfast & lunch service, as well as bartending, coffee service, flower arrangements and table decor. In order to advance, a 2nd stew should be learning from the Chief Stew wherever possible, and training on accounting and budgeting, vendor relations, inventory management, purchase ordering and administrative tasks.

The Chief Stew is responsible for all aspects of the interior, including managing the team, purchase ordering, accounting, guest logistics, dinner service, ensuring the highest standards are maintained aboard, and will have extensive knowledge of high end food and beverage service.

IAMI Housekeeping & Laundry This module covers meticulous cleaning, linen care, equipment maintenance, stain removal, health/safety, and sustainable practices for maintaining luxury standards on superyachts, with basic and advanced levels available to ensure consistent, high-end service
IAMI Advanced Laundry This course focuses on expert garment care, linen management, and efficient laundry operations for luxury superyachts, covering advanced techniques like fabric care, ironing, presentation, and managing laundry systems, often part of broader advanced housekeeping courses.
